A celebration was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. David Bush on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary with 63 guests in attendance on Sept. 27 at The Center.
The festivities were hosted by the couple's family, Linda, Doug and Rachel Shonce of Salem, Dan, Jordyn and Logan Bush of Stow, and Don, Lorie, Macen and Zachary Bush of East Rochester. The couple also renewed their vows with Pastor Freddie Rodriguez from the Salem Community Fellowship assisting.
A 1950s theme included songs from that era, and the decorations represented a 50s soda fountain. Many guests came dressed appropriate for that era in poodle skirts, saddle shoes, blue jeans and T-shirts.
The former Patricia Elaine Burger and Mr. Bush were married on Sept. 14, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Salem with the Rev. Ray Hunter officiating.
Mr. Bush retired in 1993 from Babcock and Wilcox Research Center in Alliance and was subsequently employed at the Electric Furnace Company and Butech Inc.
Mrs. Bush was employed for 25 years at Salem Community Hospital, retiring in 2003.
