KENT-The Ohio Employee Ownership Center's Succession Planning Program at Kent State University and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services are presenting a series of webinars for small business owners.
The program is designed to provide business owners with the information they need to get started with transitioning their business.
"The consequence of the absence of succession planning is that frequently businesses are sold to competitors who may consolidate operations, or the business may need to be liquidated to pay medical bills or estate taxes, leading to business and job loss," said Chris Cooper of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center at Kent State University. "The failure to plan for business succession in small and middle-sized closely held businesses is the leading preventable cause of job loss in the U.S."
Free sessions begin at 10 a.m., last approximately 45 minutes and are free. Those interested need a computer, internet connection and a phone to participate in the Webinars. No software download or configuration is required. For those unable to attend, the Webinars will be recorded and archived on the group's website: www.kent.edu/oeoc/spp
Webinars run through December.
