Tiffany Lynn Engelhardt and Alex Carter Hoopes were united in marriage on Aug. 9 at the First Friends Church in Salem. Pastor Wayne Ickes of St. Clairsville officiated at the couple's double-ring nuptials at 10:30 a.m.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Paula Engelhardt of Uniontown. The bridegroom's parents are Terry and. Doris Hoopes of Salem.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose an exquisite white strapless gown of Imperial satin with pearl and crystal appliques and featured a cathedral length train embellished with Alencon lace appliques in a scalloped floral pattern. Her fingertip single-layer veil continued the floral accents of silver thread and pearls edging.

Tanya Engelhardt of Orlando, Fla., serving her cousin as maid of honor, wore a mauve tea-length strapless gown. In matching gowns were bridesmaids, Sara Christofaris of Munroe Falls, the bridegroom's sister; Tara Bergman of Northfield; Emily Charlton of Pittsburgh and Elizabeth Kegg of Uniontown.

Geoff Schmid of Vero Beach, Fla., performed the duties of best man.

Groomsmen were Andrew Baker of Salem; Alex Barnett of Kent; Lucas Engelhardt of Columbus, the bride's brother; and William Kinkus of Dillonvale, the bridegroom's cousin.

Katelyn Housey and Nicholas Housey, the bride's twin cousins, served as the flower girl and ring bearer, respectively. Erin McCue, the bridegroom's cousin, and Brady Darrah, the bride's cousin, handed out programs and bubbles. Meg Engelhardt, the bride's sister-in-law, attended the guest registry.

Arriving at the Timberlanes of Salem in a white horse-drawn carriage, the newlyweds were greeted by 250 guests for the reception hosted by the bride's parents. The rehearsal dinner, given by the bridegroom's parents, was held at The Center in Salem.

The newlyweds are 2008 graduates of Malone College in Canton. The bride is employed as a substitute teacher with the Lake Local Schools.

The bridegroom is employed at Fed Ex Custom Critical located in Green.

Following their honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Hartville.
