Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Ackerson of 14454 N. Egypt Road, Salem, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on April 4.
The family plans to celebrate the occasion later this year when their son Dan returns from Iraq. All of their children and seven grandchildren are planning to attend a private family celebration in Florida.
The former Mary Ellen Cook and Mr. Ackerson were married on April 4, 1959.
Mr. and Mrs. Ackerson are the parents of Cathy (Jim) Jeffries of Boise, Idaho, Alan (Paula) Ackerson of Girard, Don (Vonda) Ackerson of Middleburg, Fla., and Amy Ackerson of Columbus.
Mr. and Mrs. Ackerson attend the Greenford Christian Church.
