April 4 marked the 50th anniversary of John and Jane Stoffer of Salem. They were married at the Congregational Church in Burrville, N. Y.
Mr. Stoffer's parents are Leland and Elizabeth Grove Stoffer of Salem. Mrs. Stoffer is the daughter of the late Elmer and Violet Gingerich Bast of Rutland, N.Y.
They are parents of Laurie Stoffer Bliven of Louisville, Ky., Diane (Dan) Stoffer Rogers of Cohutta, Ga., and Eric (Annabel Khouri) Stoffer of Lakewood.
Their grandchildren include Nicholas Bliven, Allyson and Jake Rogers and Madeline Stoffer.
Mr. Stoffer retired with 30 years service at General Motors in Lordstown in 1999.
Mrs. Stoffer retired from contract counseling in 2005.
Both are active in the First Presbyterian Church of Salem.
The couple plans to celebrate their anniversary by visiting favorite hiking spots in national parks this summer.
