OSU’s Tressel writes on behalf of Leetonia Schools

=To the editor:

Having coached at YSU and lived in the Mahoning Valley, I have great respect and fondness for the efforts being made to continue the process of not only upgrading the educational system and the community in general, but maintaining the proud traditions of our communities and schools. Our schools in villages such as Leetonia are the lifeline of the community.

Despite the very best efforts of the ever-vigilant administration, the revenue must increase in order to continue to provide the level of education and programs that we have come to expect from our school systems.

Difficult choices must be made in difficult times. The crisis of no increased revenue from the state and rapidly rising operating costs has not bypassed the Leetonia School District.

I am asking for your vote to support and continue the significant progress that is being made in the Leetonia School District. Unfortunately, time is running out! This is the fourth attempt to pass this much needed levy. You have a state of the art facility, a great administrative and teaching staff, and a community that cares for the well being of its students. It's not only time to secure the traditions of the Leetonia School District but enable the district and its students to add to the fine traditions.

Let us continue the "Great Leetonia Bear Tradition" of providing this generation with the high quality education received by the past generations in Leetonia. Please vote "yes" on May 5.
