The children - a brother and sister who identified themselves as Hemi and Kane - said they had left their home somewhere up over the hill to walk to their grandmother's house in New Waterford because their parents were mean to them. Young identified himself as a police officer and took them back to the fire hall, where he called their grandfather, whom he knows.
