C. Edward Porter
SALEM -?C. Edward Porter, age 74, of 16694 Heiser Road, Berlin Center died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 12, 1935 in Youngstown the son of the late Edward Franklin and Blodwyn (Thomas) Porter.
Mr. Porter worked for 40 years for Republic Steel and L. T. D. and retired as a foreman. He was a 1953 graduate of Boardman High School, member of the Salem Hunt Club, lifetime member of N. M. L. R. A. and a lifetime member of Canal Fulton Ramrod Club. Edward enjoyed hunting and local history on muzzleloaders.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Lea (Pitts) Porter, whom he married Aug. 30, 1955; two sons, Tom (Traci) Porter of Salem and Mark (Mildred) Porter of Hammondsville; two grandchildren, Abigail Porter and David (Rhonda) Porter; two great grandchildren, Charles Walker Porter and Paige Elizabeth Porter; several cousins; and a brother-in-law, David (Kathleen) Pitts of Costa Mesa, Calif.
Private services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday at the Stark Memorial. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial.
