EAST PALESTINE- Elsie Mort, 91, of 516 West Main St., passed away at 3:51 a.m. Saturday at the Covington Health Center, where she had been a patient.
Mort was born April 4, 1918, in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Ada Jane Johnson Aldridge Sr., and was a life resident of the community.
She had been a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Leonard A. Mort, whom she married Sept. 16, 1943, preceded her in death on March 5, 1980.
Mort is survived by a son, Dr. Gary L. (Gayle) Mort of Peoria, Ariz., and a brother, Robert W. Aldridge of Negley.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Burns Memorial Chapel, Glenview Cemetery, with her brother-in-law, Leslie Rucker, officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed.
The family has asked that material tributes take the form of contributions to the East Palestine Emergency Medical Technicians.
