"Grandma Grunt" Criss
SALEM- Dorothy Mae "Grandma Grunt" Criss, 85, of 346 West Pennsylvania Ave., Sebring, died at 3:38 a.m. Saturday at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Leetonia, daughter of the late Ross Harris and Emma (Yoder) Harris Dotson.
Criss was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
Her husband, Charles T. Criss Sr., whom she married on July 22, 1944, preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1974.
Survivors include three sons, Harley Richard Criss of Sebring, David Eugene Criss of Sebring and Charles T. Criss Jr. of San Bernardino, Calif.; six daughters, Dorothy "June" Ludt of Salem, Ida Ward of Sebring, Emma Huff of Lisbon, Karen Sheen of Beloit, Margaret Lane of Salem and Joanna Doak of Sebring; a half-brother, Homer Dotson of Leetonia; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Matthew Criss; two infant daughters, Mary Amanda Criss and Frances E. Criss; a granddaughter, Michele Criss; three brothers, Richard, Franklin and Paul Harris; a sister, Marie Freeman; and a step-brother, Clyde Dotson.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stark Memorial Funeral Home in Salem.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
Calling hours will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
