Ethel I. Scullion

SALEM - Ethel I. Scullion, 93, of Salem, died at 10:34 a.m. Sunday at her home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1916 in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Frank and Minta (Creed) Rohrer.

She has lived in Salem since 1939, coming from Columbiana. She had been employed as a clerk at the former A&P Store and a manager of the Hert Store in Columbiana.

A 1936 graduate of Columbiana High School, she taught exercise classes at the Salem Memorial Building. Memberships include: Salem Senior Citizens, Salem Holy Trinity English Lutheran Church, 35-year member of Salem Golf Club and a 50-year member of the Salem Country Club.

She wintered in Ft. Myers, Fla. for 24 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon C. Scullion, whom she married on Oct. 21, 1939. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Rohrer and Mabel Oberholtzer; and seven brothers, Lester, Clarence, Ardia, Walter, Arthur, Ralph and Charles.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Diane I.) Littler of McLean, Va.; and a son, Rev. Gordon D. Scullion of Defiance, Ohio; three grand children, and three great-grand children.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hope Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Connie Sassanella officiating, with burial to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund. Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen in charge of arrangements.
