SALEM - Nancy Y. Wright, 74, of 1020 W. Perry St., Salem, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009. Born June 15, 1935, she was the daughter of Willard and Helen (Schrader) McEldowney.
Nancy was a nurse for 40 years and spent her life caring for others. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of the Greenford Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Wright, whom she married Sept. 15, 1974; her mother, Helen McEldowney of Sebring; four sons, Steve (Darlene) Shutler of Millington, Tenn., Bernard Shutler, Bill (Tami) Shutler and Thomas (Sunny) Wright all of Salem; four daughters, Jenelle (Bob) Shoaff of Salem, Paula (Jim) Barton, Lora (Terry) Martin of Hanoverton and Margie (Nick) Pattie of Boardman; two brothers, Willard McEldowney and Wendell McEldowney; five sisters, Dixie Courtney, June Wagner, Susan Postiy, Bernadine Bowser, and Alanna Hughes; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her father, Willard McEldowney, and two grandchildren, Terry (T.J.) Martin and Chad Shutler, also preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Greenford Christian Church with her grandson, Rob Shoaff officiating. There will be no calling hours.
