Melanie Drotleff and Mike Hughes of Concord, N.C., are engaged and planning a summer wedding according to the announcement being made by her parents, Tom and Sue Drotleff of Tower Road, Salem.
The bride-to-be is a seventh-grade language arts teacher and coach at Ridge Road Middle School in Charlotte. She graduated in 2001 from United High School and in 2006 from Mount Union College.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Audrey Hughes of Kannapolis, N.C., and the late Robert Hughes. He is a computer systems engineer for Sonic Automotive in Charlotte.
The couple is planning a July 2011 wedding at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem.
