Alan and Connie Houk of Homeworth are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Charles Matthew Houk to Shari Lynn Smith. She is the daughter of Donna VonderHeydt of Carrollton, Texas.
The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of American Heritage Academy in Carrollton, Texas.
Her fiance is a 2007 graduate of United Local High School. They are both currently in their final year as cadets at the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York. Upon graduating in May 2011, they will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army.
The wedding ceremony will take place at West Point following their graduation and commissioning services.
