Paul "Skip" and Elise Buttermore celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18 with an open house dessert reception at the Damascus United Methodist Church.
The Buttermores were married on Dec. 23, 1945, at the Damascus Methodist Church with the Reverend Dailey officiating. They have two children, James Buttermore of Columbiana and Paula (Kevin) Wartluft of Damascus, five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Both are active in the Damascus United Methodist Church. Mr. Buttermore loves working in his machine shop and visiting with his many friends. He retired from the die room at Transue-Williams in Alliance.
Mrs. Buttermore does the tape ministry for the residents at Copeland Oaks and you can usually find her there every Monday. She is also active in the Damascus Magazine Club and loves to sing in the choir at church. Mrs. Buttermore was employed at the Damascus Friends Book Store and Lion and Lamb Book Store in Salem.
