Nicholas and Natalie Marie Hromiko of Old North Street, Columbiana, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their family on June 4 at Drake's Landing in Canfield. They will also celebrate with a trip to the Oglebay Resort, Wheeling, W.Va.
The Hromikos received blessings today at the Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church, Youngstown, where they are members. The Very Rev. Stephen Holowach conducted the ceremony.
The former Natalie Marie Gryvnak married Mr. Hromiko on June 3, 1961, at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Akron. Officiating at the ceremony were the Rev. John Mason of Akron, and the Very Rev. Michael Kapral, Warren.
Mr. Hromiko served in the United State Army Corporal Missile Battalion for two years and was employed as a mechanical engineering designer with the Van Huffel Tube Corp., Warren, NRM Corporation for 20. He retired from the Danieli Wean Corporation in 1996.
Mrs. Hromiko worked for General Tire, Akron; and Kaiser Refractories in Columbiana. She retired from Joshua Dixon Elementary School in 2004 after 21 years as the school librarian.
The couple have two children, Gregory (Laura) Hromiko, Columbiana and Gretchen (Donald) Emch of New Waterford. They also have five grandchildren.
