Wayne and Judi Allio of Salem celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary recently at the Brown Derby Restaurant in Streetsboro.
The former Judi (Pelliccioni) is the daughter of the late Merle and Stella (Berardi) Pelliccioni of Ellsworth. Mr. Allio is the son of the late Howard and Helen Allio of Pennsylvania.
The couple was wed on June 4, 1966, at Real Life Church, with the Rev. William T. Dick, Columbus, officiating.
Mr. Allio is a former four-year Navy veteran and broadcast engineer. He was chief engineer for radio stations WSOM and WQXK, Salem-Youngstown, WTOF in Canton, and WHLO in Akron. He retired in 2003 and enjoys reading and gardening. He and his wife are both avid Nascar, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
Mrs. Allio, a former legal secretary, and longtime clerk of Salem City Council, is vice president of the Salem Historical Society, as well as the Columbiana Area Business and Professional Women. She was named a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and has produced numerous shows at Salem Community Theatre, where she was a past secretary and president of the theater's board of trustees.
Mr. and Mrs. Allio have a daughter, Cristina Garlough.
The couple will continue their anniversary celebration in July at the private wedding of Cristina and Louis Huffman, at the Grand Hotel, on Mackinac Island.
