SEBRING - Harriett Suella (Flitcraft) Schmied, 89, died on Friday at the Crandall Medical Center.
Schmied, best known as Sue, was born in Carrollton to Chauncy R. and Vallaise (Heston) Flitcraft.
Survivors include four children, Susan M Schmied of Sebring, David (Malena) Schmied of Naples, Fla., Karl Schmied of Sheuman, Texas, and Jon (Judy) Schmied of Youngstown.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Schmied whom she married on Nov. 22, 1939; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted (Kay) Schmied; a great-grandson, a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Betty Jane Fontaine, Vallaise French; five brothers, Clifford, Walter, Chauncy Jr., Donald, and Lawrence Flitcraft; and many nieces and nephews whom she helped raise.
A private service will be held at Dean's Funeral Home in Sebring with Rev. Michael Kimball officiating.
Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial tributes be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
