SALEM - Barbara R. Hindmarsh, 81, of Salem, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
She was born July 25, 1930 in Perry, Maine the daughter of the late Owen Andrew and Rose Brofthy (Adams)
Mrs. Hindmarsh had worked in security at the Gimbles Department Store in Pittsburgh and had moved to Salem in 1981. She was a member of the Realife Assembly of God Church in Salem and the Christian Woman's Association.
Barbara was also a member of the Salem Elks Ladies Auxiliary, Salem City Hospital Auxiliary and the Salem Woman's Democrat Club.
Survivors include a son, Richard P. McCoy of East Port, Maine; two daughters, Barbara R. Gibbons of Pittsburgh and Ellen Louise Langdon of Fouroaks, N.C.; a sister, Betty Anne Grattan of Perry, Maine; two grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Kenneth R. Price, whom she married in 1950, preceded her in death in 1974, and her second husband, John W. Hindmarsh, whom she married Feb. 28, 1981, preceded her in death November 17, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Javernick, and an infant brother.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Jefferson Cemetery Chapel in Pittsburgh. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, Pa.
