Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Goehring of 7504 Calla Road, Canfield, observed their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise family celebration dinner at 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at Hofbrauhaus in Pittsburgh.
The former Mary Louise Kyser and Mr. Goehring were married on Sept. 15, 1961, at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbiana. The Rev. Harry Scheidmantle officiated.
The couple's children and spouses are Dave and Jan Goehring of Columbiana, Jim and Janet Schaffer and Margie Goehring of Greenford, and Paul and Gyll Goehring of Industry, Pa. They also have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Goehring retired in 1996 from Dover Elevator in Youngstown where he repaired and inspected elevators. He is a member of the Greenford Ruritan Club.
Mrs. Goehring is a homemaker and employed at D.O.Y. Credit Union.
The Goehrings are longtime members of the Greenford Christian Church where he served as a deacon, trustee and currently does light maintenance. They both serve as volunteers for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
