Sebring 17, Leetonia 7
LEETONIA - Sebring's Dakota Wagner had 143 yards on 24 carries including a 35-yard touchdown run to help the Trojans to a 17-7 win in Leetonia Friday.
Corey Baia caught two passes for 21 yards including a 5-yard touchdown from Corey Garcia that gave the Trojans a lead they would not relenquish.
Baia also kicked a 28-yard field goal and intercepted a pass.
For Leetonia, Cody Stokes had 51 yards on 15 carries and the team's lone touchdown run. R.J. Pacella added 77 yards on five catches.
Leetonia (3-4, 1-3 ITCL Tier 2) plays Friday at Southern.
Sebring (3-4, 2-2 ITCL Tier 2) hosts Lowellville.
West Branch 21, Canton South 14
CANTON - West Branch's Brenden Wells ran for more than 200 yards in his third consecutive game, and his 97-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter was the difference in a 21-14 win over Canton South. Wells finished with 213 yards on 29 carries and two touchdowns.
Troy James added 60 yards on nine carries including a 44-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
For South, Deonte Settles found the end zone twice - once on a 27-yard pass form Josh Lyon and again on a 1-yard run.
West Branch (3-4, 2-2 NBC) will host Louisville Friday.
Canton South falls to 0-7.
Mineral Ridge 42, Lisbon 20
LISBON - Mineral Ridge took advantage of poor tackling by Lisbon and strong running by Devine Redding and Casey Porter to secure a 42-20 victory Friday.
"Tonight we just didn't tackle well and that's something we have to work on," said Lisbon coach Jim Tsilimos.
Porter and Redding shook off numerous tackles to lead the Rams, combining for three of the team's six touchdowns. Redding opened the scoring with a 56-yard touchdown just two minutes into the game. Shortly after Porter carried the ball 24 yards to make the score 14-0.
"We lean on those two," said Mineral Ridge coach Joe Stevens. "They feed off each other and push each other."
Porter also scored with 52 seconds remaining in the first half to make the score 28-6. He was also tough on defense picking up a fumble deep in Rams' territory and returning it 54 yards to the Blue Devils 25-yard line.
Lisbon (1-6, 0-4 ITCL Tier 1) will travel to South Range next Friday, while Mineral Ridge (4-3, 3-2 ITCL Tier 1) will host Springfield Local.
United 38, East Palestine 35
HANOVERTON - United used a 24-point second quarter to build a lead and hold off East Palestine 38-35 Friday. Leading the Eagles was quarterback Garrett Beech with 154 yards on 11 carries for three touchdowns. Beech also had a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown. Tyler Dunn added a 21-yard touchdown run.
For East Palestine, Jake DiCello returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, one went 85 yards, the other went 95 yards.
Freshman Luke Cope was 13-of-28 for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also had 33 yards on 13 carries.
United (2-5, 2-2 ITCL Tier 1) plays at Columbiana Friday.
East Palestine (1-6, 0-4 ITCL Tier 1) travels to Crestview.
South Range 35, Springfield 21
CANFIELD - South Range's Alex Dickey returned an interception 100 yards for a score in the fourth quarter in what proved to be the pivotal play in a 35-21 win over Springfield.
Dickey also found the end zone on a 24-yard run, and 13-yard run. He finished with 201 yards on 36 carries.
Zack Thorpe added 55 yards on two carries including a 27-yard touchdown run.
For Springfield, Nick Russell went 18-of-27 for 203 yards and a touchdown. He also ran a 30-yard score in the first quarter.
South Range (3-4, 2-2 ITCL Tier 1) host Lisbon Friday.
Springfield (5-2, 2-2 ITCL Tier 1) travels to Mineral Ridge.
