West Branch wins second straight; Range takes opener

West Branch 49, Southeast 44

BELOIT - West Branch is off to a 2-0 start after dropping Southeast 49-44. Leading the Warriors was Matt Latham with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Austen Rekolt added 10 points and six assists, and Jacob Griffith had 10 points.

The Warriors finished 12-of-16 from the foul line to pull away late in the contest.

West Branch also won the jayvee game 49-42. Dustin Greenawalt had 12 points for the Warriors.

West Branch (2-0) travels to Salem Friday.

CANFIELD - South Range took down Youngstown Christian 70-45 in its season opener Tuesday. Leading the Raiders was Dan Good with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Pluchinsky added 13 points and Jordan Baker added 12.

South Range won the jayvee game 35-24. Jake Arsuffi had 10 points. Ross Stoffer added nine.

South Range (1-0) will host Springfield Friday.

LISBON - Crestview used a 21-11 fourth quarter to move past Beaver Local 56-45. The Rebels led by just one at halftime.

Leading Crestview was C.J. Collins with 16 points. Collin Gilbert added nine.

For the Beavers, Ryan Smith ad 17 points and four rebounds.

Crestview also won the jayvee game 58-43.

Crestview (1-0) hosts Columbiana Tuesday.

Beaver Local (0-2) hosts Lakeview.

SALEM - The Salem Lady Quakers fell to Mooney Monday night 46-25. Tori Jones led Salem with five points and five boards. Katherine Stiff, Megan Lehwald, Sierra Day and Cassie Davidson all had four points, and Lindsey Foster had three points and nine rebounds.

Salem (1-3) continues play Saturday hosting Canton South.
