CANFIELD - South Range rallied in the fourth quarter for a one-point win over Springfield 48-47 Thursday. Leading the Lady Raiders was Lexi Naples with 19 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Naples was 13-of-16 from the foul line. Kristin Robinson added 10 points and six rebounds.

For Springfield, Baylee Felger had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Brooke Schrieber had 13 points.

Springfield won the jayvee game 38-34. Callie Ford had 22 for the Lady Tigers. Ashley Sharp had eight for South Range.

Springfield (0-3, 0-1 ITCL Tier 1) hosts United Monday.

South Range (2-2, 1-0 ITCL Tier 1) hosts Mineral Ridge.

HANOVERTON - United scored 31 first quarter points, then held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless in the second quarter en route to an 80-38 win Thursday. Leading the Lady Eagles was Cassidy Yoder with a game-high 20 points. Taylor Smith added 17 and Emily Zehentbauer had 16. Sam Spitler added 10.

"We played well for most of the game," United head coach Sam Mathias said. "East Palestine came ready to play hard, but my girls were ready to go at them. We are focused on one game at a time. These girls do not over look anyone on our schedule. We continue to work hard and get better each day. That's what I like most about both our jayvee and varsity groups."

For East Palestine, Shannon Jurjavcic had 16 points. Katie Bell added nine.

United (4-1, 1-0) ITCL Tier 1 will play Monday at Springfield.

MINERAL RIDGE - Lisbon powered past Mineral Ridge Thursday 48-28. Leading the Lady Blue Devils was Pam Pierce with 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Tiffany Ketchum added 10 points.

Lisbon also won the jayvee game 27-15. Sarah Boyd had nine points.

Lisbon travels to Columbiana Monday.

COLUMBIANA - Crestview got off to a 14-0 first quarter start and had little trouble with Columbiana Thursday in a 51-34 victory. Leading the Lady Rebels was Ashley Harrison with 14 points and four assists. Taylor Chamberlain added eight points, and Marissa Leon had six points and nine rebounds.

For Columbiana, Khylea Fullum had 10 points, and Megan Cutlip added eight.

Columbiana won the jayvee contest 31-29. Lisa Highly had eight for the Lady Clippers. Emilee Chelbus had nine for the Lady Rebels.

Crestview (4-1, 1-0 ITCL Tier 1) plays Monday at East Palestine.

Columbiana (1-3, 0-1 ITCL Tier 1) host Lisbon.

LEETONIA - Western Reserve handled Leetonia Thursday 46-31 in an ITCL Tier 2 contest. Leading the Lady Blue Devils was Colleen Kennehan and Linley Mamonis with 12 points each. Hannah Mowery added 10 points.

For Leetonia, Kinzie Smith had nine points and four rebounds. Alexa Simmers had six points and four rebounds.

Leetonia won the jayvee game 25-15. Nicole Danko had seven points.

Leetonia (0-4, 0-1 ITCL Tier 2) plays Monday at Southern.

Western Reserve (3-1, 1-0 ITCL Tier 2) plays Monday at McDonald.

NORTH JACKSON - Jackson-Milton defeated Sebring 52-37. Leading the Lady Trojans was Kelsie Settle and Kayla Maretich with 14 points each.

Sebring hosts Lowellville on Monday.

Junior High Basketball

Salem vs. Marlington

SALEM - The Salem seventh grade boys basketball team fell 54-25 at Marlington. Leading the Quakers was Ethan Griffith with eight points. Jerod Carner added five points. Salem is now 0-2.

The eighth grade also lost 46-37. Trey Toothman had 10 points. D.J. Pullie and Brandon Weikart both added six points.

The Salem eighth grade squad is now 1-1.

Both teams are back in action Monday hosting Minerva.
