Bartholomews celebrate 60th anniversary

Pastor and Mrs. John Henry Bartholomew of 42121 State Route 517, Lisbon, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 9.

The former Ruth Ann Culler and Mr. Bartholomew were married on Dec. 9, 1951, in the Church of Christ in Alliance, with Pastor Jess Nutter officiating. The bridegroom's brother and wife, Richard and Maxine Bartholomew, were best man and matron of honor. Bridesmaid was bridegroom's sister Jean Bartholomew; ushers were the bride's brothers, Melvin and Wilford Culler, and the bridegroom's uncle, Paul Metzler.

Pastor Bartholomew has served in the ministry for 48 years and continues as Pastor of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren in Columbiana, where Mrs. Bartholomew serves as secretary.

Celebrating with them are their five children, Tim (Marla) Bartholomew of Kalispell, Mont., Becky (Al) Vignon of Washingtonville, Jack (Barb) Bartholomew of Columbus, Phil (Cathy) Bartholomew of Lisbon and Paul (Kathy) Bartholomew of West Salem. They have 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

All of their children, their spouses and several grandchildren recently surprised them at Taste of Country Restaurant in Lisbon.
