FORT MYERS, Fla.-Fred J. Drotleff, 86, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Columbiana, died Jan. 19.
Born Jan. 22, 1925, in Columbiana, he was the son of Michael and Katherine Drotleff.
Mr. Drotleff had been employed by Ohio Bell for 37 years, retiring in 1982 as a manager. He served his country in the Army European Theatre during World War II. He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers and the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana, prior to moving to Florida.
Survivors include his children, Patricia McKeehan and Barbara Hall, both of Columbiana, Gloria Ross of Fort Myers, Fla., Debi Gentile of Cape Coral, Fla., and Judy Hall of East Palestine; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Albert Drotleff of Columbiana, Ann Kinnear of Cape Coral, Fla., and Shirley Bowen of Ft. Myers, Fla.
He was preceded in death on Dec. 25, 1998, by his wife, the former Mary Irene Hasness, whom he married Dec. 21, 1946; and by his second wife, Georgia Fern Drotleff.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Pastor Sean Myers officiating of Jerusalem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbiana Cemetery where the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post 290 of Columbiana will perform full military honors.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
