New Waterford council to meet

NEW WATERFORD - Village council will meet in special session at 7 p.m. Wednesday to approve the transfer of funds. The meeting will be held in the community building, 3760 Village Park Drive.

Colmbiana plans street closing Wednesday

COLUMBIANA - Union Street will be closed from South Main Street to Chestnut Alley, on Wednesday February 1, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to install a water valve.

Salem 1942 breakfast planned

SALEM-The Salem High School Class of 1942 plans to meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Scouting month marked in Winona

WINONA-Scouting month will be observed when the Winona Area Historical Society meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Winona Friends Meeting House on Winona Road. The public is welcome.

Salem Preservation Society to meet

SALEM-The Salem Preservation Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Salem Historical Society.

Industrial Waste Control orientation

BOARDMAN-A two-hour orientation will be offered Thursday at the Mahoning County One-Stop on Route 224 in Boardman for those interested in applying for positions with Industrial Waste Control Inc., a growing Youngstown industrial cleaning company. Applicants must attend the entire orientation session from 2 to 4 p.m. before completing an employment application. Positions that Industrial Waste is looking to fill include: driver/operator, $15 to $18 per hour; field technician, $12 to $15 per hour; pump operator, $14 to $16 per hour, and field supervisor, $15 to $18 per hour. All positions include medical benefits, 401(k) and vacation. The orientation session reviews the work and safety environment as well as job descriptions. No late arrivals will be admitted. Another orientation will be held Feb. 6. To register for the orientation session, call the One-Stop at 330 965-1787.

South Range 70s 'chat' session

GREENFORD-All South Range High School classmates of the 70s are invited to a "chat n meet" session from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smokehouse Restaurant inside the Greenford Bobcat complex on Route 165. This event is hosted by Clara "Peach" Weaver (72) and Alice Chismar (73).

Spaghetti dinner in New Alexander

NEW ALEXANDER-The public is invited to an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Alexander Christian Church, 7665 Rochester Road. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children up to age 10, and free for preschool-aged children. Carryouts are available.

Columbiana 40/8 breakfast planned

COLUMBIANA-The Columbiana 40/8 breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Chataeu on state Route 14. Cost is $5.

Fairfield/Waterford 1959 dinner set

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP-The Fairfield/Waterford High School Class of 1959 will hold its monthly dinner at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Shale Restaurant and Bar in Lisbon.

Kaiser/National retirees breakfasts

SALEM-Kaiser/National retirees and past employees will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 and 23 at Adele's Place.

Knights of Columbus breakfast planned

SALEM-Knights of Columbus will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast and 50/50 drawing from 8 to 11 a.m. Feb. 12 at St. Paul School gym. Donations will be accepted. m

Spaghetti dinner at Salem masons

SALEM-The public is invited to a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Salem Masonic Building, 788 E. State St. Cost is $6 per person. The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator.
