RICHMOND - The East Liverpool girls swim team was able to sneak past Edison on Wednesday, 44-42.

On the boys side, the Wildcats came out on top, 62-29.

"The Edison team is a great team," East Liverpool coach Pam Dawson said. "They have a pretty big girls team, many more than our eight girls and when you don't have the swimmers to place in the events, you just can't score. The boys put up a good fight and finished on top. Matt (Campbell) swam a great 200 IM to break the previous school record by 16 seconds. It's not his usual event, but it may be now."

The Potters girls 200 Freestyle relay team?(Alissa Gill, Kelsey Diddle, Emily Kotfis, Kyra Gill) took first in 2:10.75.

Gill finished first in the 500 Freestyle (6:56.73).

The East Liverpool's boys 200 Medley relay team (Zech Harris, Stephan Yoho, Matt Campbell and Tommy Mohney) took first in 2:08.67.

Another top finish was the 200 Freestyle relay team (Yoho, Mohney, Harris, Campbell) with a time of 1:52.00.

The boys 400 Freestyle relay team (Yoho, Mohney, Harris, Campbell) also finished at the top in 4:20.06.

Jake Angus was the winner of the 200 Freestyle (2:30.98) and the 500 Freestyle (7:11.04).

Campbell took first in the 200 IM?(2:30.56), setting a new school record.
