Perry Township reports
- Police received a complaint from a worker on the road at Depot and Snyder roads at 10:22 a.m. Friday who was almost struck by an erratic driver who failed to stop for a signal man at a gas line work area. The vehicle was located and the driver admitted to the violation and said he would return and apologize but it turned out it wasn't him.
- Police responded to the 1800 block of state Route 344 at 5:01 p.m. Thursday where a couple was involved in a verbal argument and a shoving match. They were separated and statements were taken and the female and two juveniles left. The information will he forwarded to the county prosecutor's office for review.
- Police responded to the 1200 block of Pembrooke at 3:05 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised that a known person was making unwanted calls. The complainant advised they filed a restraining order and was advised of further options.
Salem reports
- Police charged Ashley R. Stanley, 62 Larry Lane, Cortland with OVI physical control at 2:15 a.m. Saturday and transported her to the county jail after a minor accident in a parking lot in the 1800 block of E. State St. The caller advised that a second vehicle left the area due to neither vehicle being damaged.
- An officer was flagged down at 7:02 a. m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Jefferson Ave. by a newspaper carrier who said someone stretched a rope between two trees at a nearby residence and he had walked into it. He was not injured and police located the residence and a heavy rope clothes line and cut it down.
- A man and woman were in an argument in the 500 block of Granite St. at 4:448 p.m. Friday and threw things outside and into the street. There was broken glass in the street and the female was gone when police arrived and the officer assisted the man in removing the glass. There was no physical violence but the complainant wanted documentation and the woman could not be located.
- After speaking with the complainant and a neighbor it was determined that a large passing truck took down a line from a residence in the 600 block of E. Perry St. at 4:57 p.m. Friday.
- Police responded to the 400 block of Ash St. at 5:33 p.m. Friday where the complainant had several questions regarding child custody issues.
- Police were unable to locate a suspicious person reported in the 600 block of E. 3rd St. at 6:18 p.m. Friday.
A resident in the S. Lincoln and Franklin avenue area advised of receiving unwanted calls from a known person at 7:19 p.m. Friday and was advised of the options.
- Police advised the owner of a barking dog in the 800 block of Jennings Ave. at 7:29 p.m. Friday of a barking complaint.
- Two people in the 300 block of W. 6th St. advised of an ongoing situation with harassing and threatening phone calls at 7:42 p.m. Friday. It was due to a pending tax return issue with one's ex. An officer contacted the person leaving the messages and the ex. With the officer present the complainant exchanged the tax money with with ex to resolve the situation and the man who left the message apologized to the complainant.
- Police responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road at 8:32 p.m. Friday where a mother and juvenile were at the father's residence to retrieve clothing and he refused to let them in, but did so when police arrived.
- A complainant in the 900 block of Homewood Dr. advised police at 9:19 p.m. Friday that her juvenile grandson was yelling and creating a disturbance over personal issues. Police advised the juvenile to cease and of the consequences if he did not. The complainant was advised of the options.
- Roy A. Jackson, 372 Sharp Ave. was observed driving by police at 9:18 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of E. State St. He was known to have a suspended license and was charged with OVI.
- Police responded to the 500 block of E. Pershing St. at 9:35 p.m. Friday for a report of a male juvenile who was up to suspicious activities and was kicked out of the business. An officer spoke to the complainant and advised that if the juvenile returns to contact the police.
