WARREN -A heartbreaker.
Beaver Local saw its lead slip away and in the end the game as well, 59-57, on Tuesday at Champion.
The Beavers (7-12) led, 17-7, after the opening quarter and went into the break with a 13-point advantage.
The second half, however, was all Champion as the Golden Flashes outscored the Beavers, 45-30.
Ryan Smith paced Beaver Local with 23 points, while Troy Hudson netted 21 points.
In junior varsity action, Champion won, 46-30. Jared Lyder led the Beavers with 12 points and seven rebounds.
