Oak Glen downs Brooke, 59-46

NEW MANCHESTER - Vanessa Hissam scored a team-high 17 points to go along with 12 rebounds and seven steals leading the Oak Glen girls' basketball team to a 59-46 victory Thursday night over visiting Brooke.

With the win, the Golden Bears wrap up the regular season with a record of 15-7.

Also for the Golden Bears, Payden Eckleberry recorded a 15 points to go along with 10 assists and seven steals, Amy Webster contributed 12 points and six rebounds and Karly Wiley tallied six points and three points. Finally, Alex Burch chipped in with four points and seven steals, Casey paterson and Jessica Stivason each netted two points and Haley McLaughlin ended up with one point.

Angela Staffileno netted a game-high 27 points to lead the way for the Bruins.

Oak Glen won the JV game, 31-29.

Blue Devils win championship

CANFIELD - The Lisbon 8th grade boys' basketball team defeated East Palestine, 51-31, Wednesday at South Range to claim the ITCL 8th Grade Upper Tier championship.

Josh Libertati recorded 22 points for the Blue Devils (18-0), and Tyler Thompson netted 12 points and Austin Rutecki tallied 11 points.

Jaret Spratt collected 10 points for the Bulldogs.

The Lisbon 7th grade team defeated South Range, 27-22.

Bailey McCullough collected 13 points for the Blue Devils. Taymer Grahan netted seven points for the Raiders.

Lisbon will play in the championship game at 11:15 a.m. Saturday against Springfield. The game will be played at Lisbon.

Indians tame Tigers

LEETONIA - The Southern Local 7th grade boys' basketball team defeated Wellsville, 53-23, Wednesday night.

Domanick Michael tallied a game-high 22 points, and Dakota Wetzel collected 10 points for the Indians (16-0).

Branzen Grodhaus scored six points for the Tigers (13-40, and Jacob Green ended up with five points.

Southern plays for the championship at 1 p.m. Saturday against an opponent to be determined today.
