Mandatory spring sports meeting being held

CALCUTTA - Beaver Local will hold its OHSAA Mandatory spring sports meeting at 7 p.m. March 7 in the high school auditorium. All students, parents, and coaches playing or trying out for a spring sport are required to attend.

EL boys tournament tickets on sale this week

EAST LIVERPOOL - Tickets for the East Liverpool boys varsity basketball team's sectional final next Saturday will be on sale all week. The Potters will play at 4 p.m. at Ohio University-Eastern in St. Clairsville. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the gate and are available at the high school in room B203 during school hours (7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Monday through Thursday. OGHS baseball boosters holding skills clinic

NEW MANCHESTER - Oak Glen High School Baseball Boosters will be holding a baseball skills clinic at the high school gym March 10 from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m. Instructors will be coaching staff, team and former players. Cost is $30 which includes lunch and t-shirt (if registered by March 1). Registration accepted up to and including time of clinic. Call Lisa Haddox 304-224-3611 to register or with questions.

Beaver Local Touchdown Club meeting Thur.

CALCUTTA - The Beaver Local Touchdown Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the high school. All parents are encouraged to attend.

Mustangs AAU boys traveling tourney team

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Mustangs AAU boys traveling tournament team is looking for players in grades 5-8 for play this spring. Practices will start early March with play beginning early April. For more information, call Cory Adkins at 330-718-2891 or Dan Dawson at 330-301-9407.

Turkey shoots every Sunday begin at 10 a.m.

CHESTER - Turkey Shoots will be held at the Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club on Gas Valley Road on Sundays through April 1. Shoots begin at 10 a.m. $2 per shot, Lucky X, $5 for money shoots. BLHS Hall of Fame accepting nominations

CALCUTTA - The Beaver Local High School Athletic Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations. A nomination form may be obatined at www.beaver.k12.oh.us/blhof/hall-fame.html or one can be picked up at the high school office.

Richmond to hold youth registration

RICHMOND The Richmond Baseball/Softball Association will have sign-ups from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Richmond Lighthouse Church. BLHS in need of head boys soccer coach

CALCUTTA - Beaver Local High School is taking applications for varsity boys soccer head coach. The candidate should have playing and/or coaching experience in the sport. They must also have a BCI/FBI background check, sports medicine certification and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching Class. Stratton Seacats holding 'swim-a-thon'

STRATTON - The Stratton Seacats Swim Team will be holding their annual Swim-a-Thon Mini Relay for Life from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 at the Stratton Indoor Pool. The Seacats are challenging all local teams and the public to come and participate in the Ohio Valley Swim-a-Thon to recognize the sport of swimming and bring awareness for the cause and raise money for the Relay for Life-American Cancer Society.
