LISBON - The Salineville man sentenced in February to 22 years in prison for two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition, filed an appeal this week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Bryan H. Felmet, the attorney for George W. Farnsworth Jr., filed an appeal Thursday asking for Farnsworth's sentence to be reviewed as well as two motions that were made during the process. One was a motion to suppress and the other a motion to sever the charges.

Farnsworth agreed to plead guilty to three of the five counts he was originally charged with dealing with the sexual assaults of separate children, one of whom became pregnant with his child when she was age 14.

According to court records, one girl was first molested in 1990 or 1991, when she was 7. The molestations continued with this child until 1997. Then Farnsworth began engaging in sexual activity with another girl who was 10 at the time in 1998 and continuing through May 2003.

Charges of sexual battery and felonious sexual penetration with force specification were dismissed.
