BELOIT - Bailey McElwain opened up a 5-2 game with a Grand Slam in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Lady Warriors of Beloit beat Carrollton 9-2.

McElwain drove in five runs total.

Cheyenne Miller added two hits including a double and an RBI. Mallory Hughes also had two hits.

Emily Weber got the win on the mound striking out seven.

West Branch (2-1, 1-0 NBC) plays Thursday at Minerva.

HANOVERTON - United's Krista McCartney tossed a perfect game over five innings against Sebring Tuesday for a 10-0 win. She struck out eight.

Cortnee Bailey had two hits including a double and two RBIs. Kiersten Fillman had two hits and two RBIs. Hillary Berdine added a hit and two RBIs.

Alliance 3, Salem 0

ALLIANCE - Alliance's Nathan Rice threw six shutout innings striking out 10 while giving up just two hits in a 3-0 win over Salem Tuesday.

Alliance was led at the plate by Sam Cundiff with two hits a run and an RBI.

Salem's Alex Weikart and Storm Haueter both went 1-for-2.

Brendan Webb took the loss throwing all six innings and striking out three.

Salem (0-2) hosts the Aviators Thursday.

Jacob Clayton went 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs. Brenden Wells added two hits including a triple and an RBI. Ryan Adams also added two hits.

MARLINGTON - Salem defeated Marlington 9-8 in jayvee softball action. Leading the Lady Quakers was Rylee Meals with two hits including a double and three RBIs. Raegan Meals added two hits including a triple and three RBIs. Hannah Carner had two hits including a double and an RBI.

Carner also picked up the win on the hill with three strikeouts.

Salem (1-1, 1-0 NBC) will host Sandy Valley today.

West Branch vs. Carrollton

CARROLLTON - The West Branch jayvee softball team won a slugfest 26-22 over Carrollton Tuesday.

Jeni Stewart had two tripled and three singles. Kelsey Wilson had three doubles and two singles. Grace Bates had two triples, and Natasha Smith and Breanna Bryant had two hits each.
