SALEM-William C. Weir, 68, of Salem, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
He was born Nov. 18, 1943, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Louise (Campbell) Weir.
He was a 1961 graduate of Wellsville High School and went on to earn his degree from the Pittsburgh Art Institute and attended Carnegie Mellon University part time.
William had been employed as a commercial artist at Commercial Decal in East Liverpool. He had also been employed at Salem Label Company and retired from MPI Labels in Sebring, Ohio. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Louise (Campbell) Weir of Wellsville, Ohio, and a brother, Thomas Weir of Canton.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Weir of Salem; two sons, Ian (Stephanie) and grandson, Miles of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Aaron of Columbus; two brothers, David (Vickie) of Lisbon and Steven (Teresa) of Charleston, W. Va.; a sister, Kathy (Butch) Caproruolo of East Liverpool; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the St. Paul Catholic Church.
Friends and relatives may call on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
