Salem News

From left, Perry Township Volunteer Firefighters Tony Constantino, Brady Hank and Capt. Brian Houshour prepare for the department's all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon April 21 at the north station, 2198 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem. The cost is $5.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 and up and free for children 5 and under. The department also plans to kick off its smoke detector program that day, with signups for any resident in need of smoke detectors. Firefighters will install two free smoke detectors per household as a community service. They'll also take orders for reflective house numbers that residents can place on their house or on their mailboxes so emergency crews can easily find their address.
