WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y.- Kenneth H. Quandt of Wappingers Falls, formerly of Salem, died on Friday at his home.
Born Jan. 25, 1937, in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Harriet and Herman Quandt.
Mr. Quandt served in the National Guard and United States Army. He owned and operated a neighborhood grocery store while residing in Salem. He was employed as a computer programmer by Readers Digest in Pleasantville. He was a retired employee of the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, a home firearm safety instructor and retired deputy sheriff for Dutchess County.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joanne; his daughters, Debra Ann Zanin, Ann Marie Harris and Stephanie Jo Ose; his sons-in-law, Ian, Bernard and Gus; his godmother, Josephine Kreider; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow at the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
