LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday, Michael B. Ritchie, 47, state Route 46, New Waterford, pleaded innocent to OVI, with the case scheduled for a pretrial hearing on July 2. Ritchie was cited in East Palestine at 2:05 a.m. Sunday.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 18 in the case of Robert A. Stewart, 52, Crestview Road, Leetonia, who is charged with violating a protection order his wife obtained against him.

Teresa S. Cassinger, 35, Winona Road, Winona, was fined $250 and sentenced to four days in the county jail after being found guilty of separate charges of driving under suspension and assault. The driving under suspension charge occurred following a traffic stop in Salem on May 13. On April 29, Cassinger was accused of biting the father of her daughter on the arm and scratching him.

Justin E. Buskirk, 33, North Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 and sentenced to three days in jail after pleading guilty to public indecency. Buskirk was accused of exposing himself in the Arsuffi Laundromat in Columbiana last August.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 10 in the case of Hubert M. Grim, 44, West 10th Street, Salem, who is charged with OVI. Grim was cited by Salem police following a traffic stop at 2:24 a.m. Saturday.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 14 in the case of Charles Carroll, 42, U.S. Route 62, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing Holly Carroll by the neck and throwing her to the ground and then attempting to throw her out the door. This occurred on June 6.

Carroll is also charged with criminal damaging after forcing a door at a Salem home open with his shoulder, damaging the door frame, which also occurred on June 6.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 9 in the case of Michael V. Little, 26, Failer Road, East Palestine, who is charged with assault for reportedly punching his neighbor, Roger Walker, in the face on June 8.

Casey R. Carlton, 27, U.S. Route 30, Kensington, was not fined after being found guilty of swimming in a non-swimming area of Guilford Lake at 11:40 p.m. May 26.

A pretrial hearing date of Aug. 27 was scheduled in the case of Terry Thomas, 45, of South Euclid, charged with OVI, speeding, drug abuse and drug possession. Thomas was pulled over by the highway patrol for driving 94 mph in a 65 mph zone in Madison Township at 10:51 p.m. June 3. The trooper smelled marijuana and Thomas surrendered a marijuana cigarette. Upon further investigation a pound of marijuana was found in the spare tire well.

Christopher Griffith, 51, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was sentenced to 10 days in jail, fined $875 and his license was suspended for a year after being found guilty of OVI following a traffic stop in March in Lisbon. Griffith was also fined $150 after Lisbon police found a baggie containing marijuana and rolling cigarettes in his vehicle.
