Masons to offer food for Super Cruise
SALEM- The Salem Masonic Temple will have a food stand Friday and Saturday during the Super Cruise. Menu will include sausage and steak sandwiches, French fries and more.
Driving school accepting registrations

Rambunctious Rabbit Raisers fundraiser
SALEM- The Rambunctious Rabbit Raisers (RRR) 4-H Club is hosting a "Day with the Vendors" fundraiser from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Salem St. Paul School gymnasium.
'Backyard Barbecue for 10 Raffle'
SALEM- The Salem Community Hospital (SCH) Auxiliary and The Hickory Rib restaurant in Salem are teaming up to present the "Backyard Barbecue for 10 Raffle." The winner of the raffle will receive 10 barbecue dinners, each consisting of a quarter rack of ribs, a quarter of a chicken, western beans, potato salad, cole slaw, rolls with butter and refreshments. Table service will also be provided. The food and place settings will be delivered to the winner's home or another agreed upon site, on a day of the winner's choice.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be purchased from any Auxiliary member. Tickets will also be sold from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 9 through 12 in the SCH cafeteria, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13 at the Salem Giant Eagle. The winner will be drawn on Aug. 2 and notified by telephone. Some restrictions regarding prize redemption apply. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit future hospital projects. Free skin cancer screenings offered
SALEM- Dr. Amanda Baright will be providing free skin cancer screenings by appointment from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Salem Community Hospital's Outpatient Clinic, located on the Ground Floor of the hospital, 1995 E. State St. Those interested in participating in the skin cancer screening need to schedule an appointment in advance by calling the SCH Marketing Department at 330-332-7152.
Baright is a general surgeon affiliated with Salem Community Hospital's medical staff. Her office is located at 2094 E. State St., Suite A in Salem, 330-337-2868.
Community Foundation scholarships
SALEM- Current college students interested in applying for Salem Community Foundation scholarships are reminded they can pick up applications now at the Salem Community Center or Salem Public Library. The application may also be downloaded via the scholarship link on the foundation's website, www.salemcommunityfoundation.org. All applications must be received in the Salem Community Foundation's office by Friday to be considered for an award. Consideration will be given to students on the basis of class level (senior, junior and sophomore) and financial need. Applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average, a minimum class load of six semester hours, and be a resident of Salem City or Perry Township. Scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 term.
Breast Feeding Support Group meets
EAST LIVERPOOL- The Breast Feeding Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. June 27 at Ivywood Wellness Center, 49190 Calcutta Smith Ferry Road. All pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are welcome to attend the free meeting which will feature a question and answer session with a board certified lactation consultant. Round Up Lunch for a Cure planned
EAST PALESTINE- The East Palestine Rotary Roadrunners will sponsor their third Round Up Lunch for a Cure from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 27. The homemade lunch selection includes chicken salad or ham salad on a freshly baked croissant, homemade macaroni salad or pasta salad, chocolate or peanut butter Texas sheet cake, bottled water or lemonade.
