Falcone graduates with honors from Kent State
KENT-Anthony Falcone has graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College at Kent State University with a bachelor's of science degree in biology.
He is the son of Rick and Mary Falcone of East Palestine. Falcone plans to attend the Ohio State College of Dentistry in the fall.
Frederick earns dean's list at Goshen College
GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen College recently recognized 239 students, for excellence in academics, including a Leetonia student, on the 2011-12 spring semester dean's list.
Chelsea L. Frederick, daughter of Brian and Sherri Frederick of Leetonia, is a senior studying biology and environmental science.
She is a 2009 graduate of Leetonia High School and attends Leetonia Mennonite Church.
Area students graduate from Heidelberg Univ.
TIFFIN - Heidelberg University President Robert H. Huntington presented diplomas to 248 seniors, representing eight states and four foreign countries, and 65 graduate students who received master's degrees in counseling, education, business administration and music education during commencement ceremonies May 12-13.
Area graduates and their degree include: Dustin Bertschman of Leetonia, bachelor's of arts degree in English and history, cum laude; and Kara Barker of Alliance, bachelor's of music degree.

Sebring: Kyle James Nannah, graduated with a bachelor's of arts degree in business administration. He is the son of Tim Nannah and Cheryl Nannah.
East Rochester: Emily Rebecca Sechrest, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's of science degree in biology. She is the daughter of Gene and Kathy Sechrest.
Bieniek names to dean's list at Ohio Wesleyan
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - John Bieniek of Martinsburg, W.Va., has been named to the 2012 spring semester dean's list at Ohio Wesleyan University.
He is the son of Marian Bieniek of Martinsburg and the grandson of Joan Owen Mandry of Lisbon.
Boyd receives law degree from Capital
COLUMBUS - Donald Boyd of Leetonia recently received his juris doctor degree from Capital University Law School, graduating cum laude.
He is the son of Scott and Deb Boyd and a 2005 graduate of Leetonia High School.
Couchenour achieves dean's list at Anderson U.
ANDERSON, S.C. - Kristine Couchenour of Columbiana was named to the dean's list at Anderson University for the spring semester.
In order to be named to the dean's list, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the semester.
Local students among Westminster graduates
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. Nearly 300 students earned diplomas during the 158th annual Westminster College commencement ceremonies on May 19.
Undergraduate degrees were conferred on 282 students with an additional 12 receiving master's degrees. Area graduates include:
Canfield: Chelsea Dean, a business administration major who graduated cum laude, is a daughter of Cynthia Dean and a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School; Nicholas Popovich, a music education major who graduated magna cum laude, is a son of Joseph and Gina Popovich and a graduate of Canfield High School. He sang in the Senior Choir for baccalaureate.
East Palestine: Juliette Powers, a biology major, is a daughter of Mark and Cynthia Powers and a graduate of East Palestine High School.
New Middletown: Gretchen Haug, an English major, is a daughter of Gary and Donna Haug and a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She sang in the Senior Choir for baccalaureate.
Salem: Caitlin Roberts, a December graduate who majored in environmental science, is a daughter of David and Paula Roberts and a graduate of Salem High School.
She gave an Old Testament reading from Proverbs for baccalaureate.
Kelvington named to dean's list at YSU
EAST PALESTINE - Leighann Kelvington has been named to the 2012 spring semester dean's list at Youngstown State University.
She is a special education mild to moderate disability major.
She is the daughter of Ron and Jenni Kelvington of East Palestine and a 2010 graduate of East Palestine High School.
Roberts graduates from Chatham University
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Nicholas Divjak of Rogers graduated from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pa. on May 21, during the 2012 commencement ceremony held at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh.
Divjak earned a master's of science degree in biology.
