SALEM - Barbara Wagner, 87, of Salem, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Bel Air Care Center in Alliance. She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Lakewood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alton and Marie (Stoffer) Bye.
Barbara was a member of the Damascus Methodist Church and the Damascus Methodist Women's Club. She was a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School and a member of the Damascus Historical Society and Sevakeen Country Club.
Her husband, Ross Wagner, whom she married April 9, 1948, at the Damascus Methodist Church, preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly (David) Paterson of Concord, Ohio; sons, Kevin (Darlene) Wagner of Marietta, Ohio, and Garth (Lisa) Wagner of Painesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Cheryl Paterson, Patrick (Cherie) Paterson, Paul (Rita) Paterson, Christopher (Carrie) Wagner, Ryan Wagner, Sean Wagner, Wesley Wagner, Tiffany (Todd) Fouty and Chad (Heather) Bruce; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Elias and Georgia Paterson, Mason Wagner, Conner Boley, Bailey and twins Carter and Emma Fouty, and Aura, Chaden and Alivia Bruce.
Also Mary Lou (Joe) Pusateri, Barbara's Guardian Angel, who has been so good to Barbara and done so much for her. Without Mary Lou, Barbara would not have been independent as long as she was.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bel Air Care Center nurses, aides and staff for the wonderful and compassionate care our mom received there.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at the Damascus Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Amey officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Damascus Cemetery.
