SALEM - Janet M. Blakeley, 93, of Salem, formerly of Irondale, died Monday in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital.
She was born March 10, 1919, in Irondale, the daughter of the late Harold D. and Martha Jane (Davis) Gill.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Salem. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the former Frost Top Ice Cream Parlor in Salem, before retiring in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Miller of Lisbon; a son, James E. Hood Jr. of Austintown; a sister, Jane E. (Quenton) Henderson of Carrollton; one grandson and two great grandsons.
She was preceded in death on Feb. 21, 2000, by her husband, Frank I. Blakeley, whom she married Dec. 21, 1958.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville, with the Rev. P. Doug George, of the church officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
