HOUSTON, Texas - Wayne Alan Grate, 50, died at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas, at 11:20 a.m. CST Friday, June 22, the result of a massive stroke.
He was born in Salem on April 29, 1962 to Charles and Florence Grate.
Wayne was a 1980 graduate of United Local High School and of the Columbiana County Career and Tech Center's Construction Trades I & II. He was the owner/operator of "The Door Dude" in Houston, Texas, for the past 21 years. He was a resident of Houston for the past 26 years. Wayne was a faithful attendee of The Crossing Church of the Nazarene in Houston as well as the Wednesday evening "Lifegroup" Bible Study.
Wayne is survived by his wife Rhonda (Bellows) whom he married Dec. 20, 1986; their children Sheresa, Shanae and Shane; his parents of Salem; two brothers, Sam (Debbie) Grate of Columbiana and Kenny (Sheila) Grate of Millersburg; two sisters, Beth (Chuck) Suchy of Salem and Ruth Ann King of Salem.
Calling hours and funeral were held at the Klein Funeral Home chapel in Magnolia, Texas, June 26, 2012 with burial also in Magnolia, Texas. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at the Salem First Friends Church.
