SALEM REPORTS

- Tami Siekemeyer, 46, of 693 Fair Ave., was taken into custody Saturday afternoon on a bench warrant for a misdemeanor charge out of Trumbull County and a felony warrant for nonsupport out of Wayne County. She signed a waiver for extradition and was taken to Trumbull County.

- A caller at 6:45 a.m. Saturday requested a welfare check on a resident in the 200 block of West Pershing Street where the person's vehicle was parked in the garage running with the driver door open and nobody appeared to be around. An officer arrived and made contact with the resident who was asleep in the front seat of the vehicle. He said he was drinking earlier and sat in the vehicle to listen to the radio. He went inside.

- Police responded to a complaint of fireworks near the entrance to Kelley Park on Prospect Street at 5:06 a.m. Saturday. The caller said three males threw a pack of fireworks and continued walking. No one was located.

- Michael R. Miller, 29, of 9620 state Route 45, Lisbon, was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence and no turn signal after a traffic stop at 2:09 a.m. Saturday.

- Suspicious people were reported at 1:38 a.m. Saturday outside the Laurel Court apartment complex, but nobody could be found.

- Police responded at 1:10 a.m. Saturday to East Sixth Street and School Street for an alleged argument. People were found on a back porch and said everything was fine now. The argument was over stopping a friend from driving intoxicated.

- Loud music was reported at 12:20 a.m. Saturday on Hickory Lane and found coming from a West 16th Street property where a birthday party was being held. They were told to turn the music down.

- Fireworks were reported at 11:29 and 11:21 p.m. Friday in the area of Arch Street and Newgarden Avenue. Officers on patrol at 10:46 p.m. Friday noticed fireworks in the 500 block of Bricker Lane and told the residents about the complaint. Fireworks were also reported in the area of Spring Street and West Perry Street.

- A possible intoxicated driver was reported in a blue Kia in the 2800 block of East State Street at 10:05 p.m. Friday, but the vehicle was not found.

- Police were called at 9:02 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of East Third Street for a dispute and alleged assault. Two residents were voluntarily intoxicated and admitted a dispute occurred, but were uncooperative. Several other people arrived and said the dispute started as a result of a male allegedly touching an adult female inappropriately. During the investigation, a female resident became disorderly while outside with the neighbors and others. After numerous warnings, Joyce Houshour, 44, of 989 E. Third St., was charged with disorderly conduct.

- Police were called at 8:49 p.m. Friday to the 2100 block of Monroe Street for excessive noise coming from an apartment. A resident told police there was an argument between a tenant and his girlfriend, but she left. The tenant said there would be no more disturbance.

- A man in the 700 block of East School Street reported Friday night that his ex-girlfriend was spreading untrue rumors about him and he was worried the alleged rumors would cause him problems. He was told his options.

- A woman in the 200 block of East Fourth Street reported at 6:51 p.m. Friday that she let her son use her car earlier and he hadn't returned. She didn't want anything done, she just wanted him to return home. She was told her options.

- A stray dog was reported in the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. The dog had a collar and shot tags, but no number for the owner. The humane agent responded to pick up the dog pending identification of the owner.

- An officer saw a vehicle parked within a foot of the stop sign on Fourth Street and Union Avenue at 5:36 p.m. Friday and located the owner to move the vehicle.

- Police responded to the 600 block of Ohio Avenue for a complaint at 5:09 p.m. Friday of a dog outside all day without water. An officer located the dog and saw it had water and food as well as shelter from the sun. The dispatcher called the complainant back and said the dog was fine.

- Michael Shafer, 18, of Alliance, was charged with assured clear distance and hit/skip after police investigated a hit/skip accident at 4:50 p.m. Friday on Benton Road at the traffic light. A vehicle driven by Michael Slagle, 47, of Seacrist Road, was eastbound and stopped for a traffic light when another eastbound vehicle driven by Michael Shafer failed to stop and struck the Slagle vehicle from behind, then fled. Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle and partial plate numbers, which an officer on patrol at 6:48 p.m. Friday noticed on North Union Avenue and East Sixth Street. The driver, Brooke Shafer, 18, of 1407 Jennings Ave., was cited for no license and the passenger, Michael Shafer, said he was driving during the accident.

- An anonymous caller at 4:22 p.m. Friday wanted to speak to an officer about a problem, reporting he believed two people in the city were attempting to pass counterfeit money.

- Police were called at 3:59 p.m. Friday to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue for a possible fight/dispute. An officer spoke with both parties and the woman said her boyfriend was having psychological problems. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance responded and he was taken to Salem Community Hospital by KLG.

- Police were called at 2:43 p.m. Friday to the 1500 block of Quaker Lane where a resident found half a dozen unspent .22-caliber bullets. The officer gathered the bullets for proper disposal.

- Roger Long, 35, of 29549 U.S. Route 62, was cited for assured clear distance after his truck struck the driver side rear corner of a vehicle driven by Gretchen Weyand, 29, of 44687 state Route 14, Columbiana, while he was attempting to turn from Southeast Boulevard to travel east on East State Street at 1:43 p.m. Friday. Weyand was stopped on East State Street in the westbound turning lane.

- Police responded to East State Street at 12:52 p.m. Friday for a large tree limb obstructing the lane just east of Highland Avenue. The limb was moved to the curb lawn.

PERRY TWP. REPORTS

- Randy Mellinger Jr. of Salem Alliance Road responded to the police station at 4:35 p.m. Friday to report a tree branch fell on his vehicle while he and a female passenger were traveling south in the 400 block of Michigan Avenue, striking the roof and driver side mirror, causing minor damage. He said he had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid having the branch strike the rest of the vehicle.

- Police responded to Homestead Pools on Depot Road at 2:38 p.m. Friday for a chemical spill where a large amount of chlorine fell from a pallet. Perry Township firefighters were called to handle the spill along with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Police shut down Depot Road with assistance from Salem.

- Police were called at 2:45 p.m. Friday to the 1700 block of Newgarden Avenue for a suspicious person and found a man sitting on the porch. Police confronted the man who would not identify himself and detained him until his identity could be discovered. During the investigation, it was determined he should be checked out by medical professionals due to him saying he was the Sun God. He was transported to Salem Community Hospital by KLG Ambulance.

- A caller at 8:59 p.m. Thursday reported juveniles in a wagon being pulled by a vehicle in the 1300 block of West State Street. Nothing was located.

- Ashley Brooks, whose last known address was Stewart Road, was charged with a license forfeiture suspension and fictitious plates after a traffic stop on Stewart Road at 4:06 p.m. Thursday.

- An anonymous caller at 5:59 p.m. Thursday reported a 3-year-old child had wandered away from home in the 1100 block of West Perry Street. Officers spoke to the mother who said the child had wandered off but was found in a neighbor's garage unharmed.

- A fireworks complaint was reported at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on Jones Drive.

- Roberto Gil Amezquita Rodriguez, of Massillon, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday on Depot Road.

- A resident on Benton Road reported at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday that a female known to her entered her residence while she was away and removed several pills on June 22.

- A resident in the 1000 block of West Perry Street called at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday regarding his neighbor's cats who continue to use his flower bed and garden as a litter box. On Wednesday, he saw a cat in his garage and discovered the cat tore up his shades to his garage window.

- Loud music was reported in the 200 block of Apple Street at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday. The homeowner was told to turn it down.

- A fireworks complaint was filed at 10:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street.

- Korey Brogan, of Salem Alliance Road, was cited for operating a motorcycle within the restricted time without safety equipment, cancelling his motorcycle permit, during a traffic stop at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday on South Lincoln Avenue.

- A domestic between parents and a son was reported at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Bethel Drive. The son left before police arrived.

- Police were called to the 2000 block of Countryside Drive for a report of a suspicious vehicle traveling around the area, causing a disturbance. Police located the vehicle in a drive on Hampton Place, but were unable to talk to the owner.

- Alison Van Fossan of South Main Street, Columbiana, was cited for assured clear distance after her vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Nancy Moore of state Route 45, Salem, who was slowing in traffic on South Lincoln Avenue near Fresh Mark and then struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Rita O'Leary of Ninth Street, Salem, who had also slowed for traffic.

- Police were called at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday for a dirt bike on Plymouth Place, but no dirt bike was found.

- A possible fight was reported at 9:17 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Prospect Street, but one side had already left. The other side said it was an argument.

LISBON REPORTS

- Anna Carlisle, 76, Grant Street, Lisbon, was cited for failing to stop an assured cleared distance after she drove into the rear of stopped Honda CRV operated by Brian Zaleski, 44, of Canton, on East Lincoln Way at 4:38 p.m. Thursday.

- Julie Morrow reported being bitten on the knee by a dog while on the Greenway Trail near Maple Street at 8:11 p.m. Thursday. She added there was more than one dog.

- A barking dog complaint was received from the area of West Washington and Maple Street at 3:39 a.m. Friday. The woman who called said the dog had been barking for more than six hours. Police located the barking dog, and the owner said his son found the canine two days ago on the Greenway Trail and brought it home. He has placed an ad in the paper and had contacted the dog warden.

-Margaret Hippley reported there were juveniles hanging around the apartment complex where her mother lives on East Chestnut Street at 7:13 a.m. Friday. Hippley said when she confronted the one adult, identified as Richard Vecchio, she said they maintained they were there visiting someone who lived there. When she asked who, they fled.

- A false alarm occurred at East of Chicago Pizza at 4:09 a.m. Friday. Police found a delivery worker there and the pass code he had did not work.

- Someone by the name of Tracy reported there was a parking problem in front of the Barborak Law Offices at 9:09 a.m. Friday. The motorcycles parked in the handicapped spot were moved as a result of the call.

- Toney Brock, North Jefferson Street, reported Friday being involved in a dispute over the purchase of a 1990 Lumina, which was taken from in front of his house. Police told Brock they did not consider the car stolen because he was unable to produce the necessary proof that it was his.

- Amy Dyke reported there was a sick raccoon in the middle of East Pine Street at 3:41 p.m. Friday.

- Jen Wilcox reported three females she knows followed her to the community basketball court at 8:14 p.m. Friday and they wanted to fight her. Wilcox said she had been ignoring them for 30 minutes but they are persisting in wanting to fight her.

- Jennifer Oliver requested an officer stand by while she retrieved some personal property from a home on East Chestnut Street at 9 a.m. Saturday.

- A security alarm went off at the Pahanish residence on state Route 164 at 10:11 a.m. Saturday. No other details were provided.

- Brandy from VRS Loans on North Market Street reported Saturday a suspicious male left a letter on the counter at the business that rambled on about a woman and quoted Bible verses. A copy was faxed to the police department for its inspection.
