SALEM
- Police were called at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday for a dog who followed a jogger to the area of Oak Street. The young large Shepard mix dog had no collar or tags and was taken to the humane agent. The owner was thought to live on South Union Avenue near Ridgewood. The pet's owner can contact police or Davidson's.
- A man in the 100 block of Benton Road called at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday about speeding vehicles in an alley. An officer stayed for awhile, but saw no vehicles.
- A line was reported down at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Superior Avenue. An officer found a black cable line hanging down from a tree, pulled it from the tree and placed it on the curb lawn.
- A woman in the 400 block of East Sixth Street reported a dog at large at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday. An officer saw the dog on East School Street, attempted contact with the owner and left a warning tag at the residence.
- A man in the 100 block of South Union Avenue reported at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday that someone has been making threats towards him through Facebook. The person will be contacted and told to stop.
-A man in the 700 block of East Pershing Street reported at 11:03 p.m. Monday that he's having an issue with his ex-girlfriend. He was told his options.
- Police responded to the 1300 block of Jefferson Avenue at 10:46 p.m. Monday for a possible water line break and contacted the water department.
- A man in the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 10:26 p.m. Monday that an unknown person placed a lit paper bag near his front door. He didn't see the person. Officers checked the area, but didn't find anyone.
- Police checked a residence in the 500 block of Granite Avenue after receiving a 911 hangup call at 10:24 p.m. Monday. No disturbance was found.
- Rickie Court, 53, of Greenville, N.C., was taken to Salem Community Hospital after a one-vehicle accident at 9:52 p.m. Monday at West State Street and South Ellsworth Avenue. The report said Court was eastbound on State and attempted to turn south onto Ellsworth when he allegedly failed to maintain control and struck a utility pole. While speaking with him, an officer noted he appeared to be suffering from a medical condition and called for an ambulance, determining the cause of the accident as medically-related.
- A woman in the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue reported at 9:09 p.m. Monday that she was being threatened by someone she knows. She was told her options.
- A citizen in the 200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue flagged down an officer at 7:46 p.m. Monday to report a juvenile throwing rocks at a building. The juvenile was located and admitted to throwing rocks. He was told the error of his ways. The building was not damaged.
-A Canfield man reported at 7:35 p.m. Monday that a lunch box was removed from his truck on Sunday while he was in the 2800 block of East State Street.
- Reckless vehicles were reported in the area of East State Street at 7:33 p.m. Monday and Newgarden Avenue/Prospect Street at 7:22 p.m. Monday, but were not found.
- A woman in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue reported a harassment complaint at 6:48 p.m. Monday, saying that several of her neighbors have been creating problems for her the past couple of weeks. She wanted it documented.
- A woman in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue called at 6:45 p.m. Monday to report possible child endangering, saying the 7-year-old girl neighbor girl was home by herself with no supervision. The mother was contacted and said her boyfriend was home and was aware her daughter was outside playing with the other children.
- A caller at 6:32 p.m. Monday reported a suspicious person in the 1000 block of East School Street walking around in just his underwear. Officers located the person and noted he was wearing shorts.
- A domestic was reported at 5:52 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of East Fourth Street where a live-in couple had a verbal dispute. The male was trying to find a place to stay for the night and they were both told to keep their distance from each other.
- A man in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 4:14 p.m. Monday that someone took the stereo equipment out of his vehicle's trunk and damaged the interior when they cut the equipment out.
- A man in the 300 block of West Pershing Street reported at 3:49 p.m. Monday that his driver's license was either lost or stolen. He was told his options.
- A resident of the 100 block of North Union Avenue reported at 7:26 p.m. Sunday that someone took his bicycle without his permission. He was told his options.
- A caller at 7:15 p.m. Sunday reported a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of Woodland Avenue between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. with a male in the vehicle who stops in the middle of the road and stares at several houses.
- Officers on patrol at 6:20 p.m. Sunday were flagged down in the 400 block of East Pershing Street by a person who received a threat from someone known to him. He was told his options.
- A reckless vehicle was reported at 6:08 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle was located, but no violations were seen.
- A domestic was reported at 5:40 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Hickory Lane. No one answered the door.
- A woman in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue reported at 2:59 p.m. Sunday that she and her brother's girlfriend had an argument because of language being used around her younger daughter. She said the suspect was now calling and texting her. An officer attempted to call the suspect and she didn't answer the phone.
- A woman in the 400 block of Continental Driver reported at 2:57 p.m. Sunday that a person known to her has access to her apartment and she does not want them there. An officer will make contact with the person.
- A man came to the police station at 2:33 p.m. Sunday to report his estranged wife was at the business/residence and she was not to be there. An officer went to the business and found her there. She wanted to file a report because her purse and phone were removed from her unlocked vehicle. The officer learned the man had given the purse to another officer, claiming he found it in the vehicle at the business/residence. Both parties were told the information would be sent to the prosecutor.
- A resident in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 12:27 p.m. Sunday that she was receiving unwanted phone calls, text messages and emails from a female who resides in another state and she wants it to stop. She was told her options. An officer will try to contact the other woman.
- A man in the 1100 block of Maple Street reported at 12:12 p.m. Sunday that he was having a problem with an old friend saying false things about him and saying things to people where his wife works and to other people they know. Officer told him it's a civil matter.
- Patrick Greenamyer, 33, of Depot Road, was taken into custody while driving on Newgarden Avenue at 12:06 p.m. Sunday, arrested on a warrant out of Columbiana County for failure to appear.
- A man reported he attempted to withdraw $100 from his bank account at Home Savings at 10:47 a.m. Sunday and received a receipt that said $100 was withdrawn, but he never received any cash.
- Michael Galluzo, 56, of Middlebourne, W.Va., was charged with failure to control after a traffic crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. July 5 on Newgarden Avenue near the railroad tracks. The car had left the scene and was found on Prospect Street where the man said the car broke down but then admitted his foot slipped off the brake and he hit the crossing gate.
PERRY TWP.
- A resident in the 1800 block of Countryside Drive reported at 12:53 a.m. Tuesday that someone was outside their house making a lot of noise. Police checked the area, but didn't find anyone.
- Township police assisted Salem Police with a combative prisoner at 5:53 p.m. Monday due to other Salem units being tied up with other calls.
- A man from the 1800 block of Countryside Drive called at 3:32 p.m. Monday about his ex-fiance changing the locks and alarm codes at the residence they both own, leaving him no way to get inside. He was told that since he's partial owner, he can gain entry any way he wants, but suggested he seek a civil arrangement. Police had been called to the same residence for a report of harassing text messages from an ex-fiance saying their attorneys need to talk about the residence they own together. The complainant was told there was nothing in the text message to constitute harassment.
- A female from the 300 block of Stewart Road requested to speak with an officer at 10:48 a.m. Monday regarding a child custody situation she's having with her live-in boyfriend, with whom she has a child. She was advised to seek legal counsel.
- Fireworks were reported in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, with none found.
- A resident from the 1700 block of Harrison reported a theft of aluminum from his property and located the scrap at an area scrap yard. The matter was under investigation with charges pending.
LISBON
- Ryan Delong of Salineville was in a doctor's office on East Lincoln Way when someone saw a vehicle knock over his motorcycle in the parking lot at 4:11 p.m. Monday. Using the license plate number obtained by a witness, police determined the driver of the other vehicle was Austin F. Koller, 15, of state Route 517. Koller and his mother, who was accompanying him, were unaware any accident had occurred but were cooperative.
- A caller reported there was a domestic dispute taking place at a home at the corner of Summit and North streets at 8 p.m. Monday.
- A caller asked an officer to come to the community basketball court at 9:11 p.m. Monday.
COLUMBIANA
- Someone reported at 9:34 a.m. Monday a man wearing a blue hat, white T-shirt and jeans was waiting until cars passed by and then littering on South Main Street. Police found the man on the porch of his South Main Street home and he said he had picked up some Styrofoam in the road that had been run over and tossed it toward the creek.
- Someone reported at 9:44 a.m. Monday a man was trespassing at a South Main Street home.
- Police received a 911 hangup call from a Duquesne Street Extension home at 11:40 a.m. Monday. It was discovered a child was playing with the phone and there were no problems.
- Cadow Mohamed Amin, 30, of Columbus, was driving a tractor-trailer around the traffic circle at 12:47 p.m. Monday and cut too close causing the left trailer wheels to go over the curb and strike the traffic circle, knocking several bricks loose. He was cited for failure to stay in marked lanes.
- Someone reported at 1:13 p.m. Monday an elderly man was walking along state Route 14 trying to hitchhike. Police checked the area several times but didn't find the man.
- A Columbiana Buick employee reported at 1:30 p.m. Monday a customer was being very loud and swearing a lot and requested police attempt to calm the man down.
- Tammy L. Cunningham, 47, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, was eastbound on East Park Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Monday and David R. Stryffler, 56, East Park Avenue, backed out of a driveway and was struck by her vehicle. Stryffler was cited for improper starting or backing.
- A man turned in a wallet he found in the Golden Chopsticks parking lot at 3:59 p.m. Monday.
- David B. Krepps, 35, Bergholz, was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates following a traffic stop on Springfield Road at 6:59 p.m. Monday.
- A man reported at 9:34 p.m. Monday kids were yelling at each other in the Subway parking lot. Police found a boy and girl who formerly dated engaged in a verbal dispute. The girl later left with her mother and no physical violence was reported.
