Texas teen with local ties places at pageants

Katy Acker, 15, of Ingleside, Texas, recently competed and brought home three crowns in two pageants. Katy is the daughter of Leonard and Brooke (Pierce) Acker of Ingleside. Her mother is a former Lisbon resident. Katy was crowned "Miss Teen Shrimporee First Runner Up" in the teen division for beauty and poise for the Aransas Pass Miss Shrimporee pageant. Katy was also crowned "Most Photogenic" for the Miss Teen division. She also recently competed in her hometown for the Miss Round-Up Days pageant where she was crowned as third runner up. Katy is a very busy young lady who will be entering her sophomore year at Ingleside High School. An honor roll student, she is also a member of the marching band color guard, basketball and track team and one of the team managers for her high school softball team. Katy is the granddaughter of Walter and Andrea Macuich of Lisbon, Max Pierce of Matthews, N.C., and Warren and Deanna Acker of Wheeler, Mich. (Submitted photo)
