Salem police are investigating a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and East Pershing Street at 7:02 p.m. Friday. Names were unavailable. Police said the driver of the white Chevy Malibu was rushing to the hospital after leaving Mullins Park where his female companion had passed out and stopped breathing. He struck the rear of the Oldsmobile Alero and another vehicle involved had minor damage and was driven from the scene while the female who became ill and the two other drivers were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Malibu was cited for assured clear distance accident and a charge of no operator's license is pending. (Salem News photo by Larry Shields)
