Larry D. and Carol E. Messer, Salem, celebrated their 50th anniversary at a family gathering.
The former Carol E. John, daughter of Roland and Gladys John, married Mr. Messer, son of Homer and Anniece Messer, on July 15, 1962, at the Winona Methodist Church. The Rev. Frank Tully performed the ceremony.
Mr. Messer retired as supervisor from Columbia Gas of Ohio. Mrs. Messer retired as secretary to the superintendent from United Local Schools.

They have three children, Gregory B. (Sharon Wright) Messer, Michael T. (Kimberly Justice) Messer and Pamela L. (Donald) Cannon ; two granddaughters; three grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
