Outdoor program planned

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Columbiana County Conservation Partners is hosting its fifth annual "Explore the Outdoors With Your Family Because Time Together Counts."

This free event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 11 at Beaver Creek State Park, has something for the whole family. Activities include electro-fishing demos, stream sampling, nature walks, wildlife displays, crafts, games, music and much more. A free lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and prizes will be given throughout the day. For more information call Tom Butch at 330-337-8444.

SHS?Athletic HOF dinner set

SALEM - The Salem High School Athletic Hall of Fame's induction dinner and ceremony will be held on Sept. 6 at the Salem Community Center. Those selected for the Class of 2012 are Ed Beck '32, Ned Chappell '60, Richard Huffman '86, David Hunter '60, and J. Robert Sebo '54.

Reservations may be made at the Salem Community Center or via phone at 330-332-5885. SCC accepts cash, Visa, Discover, MasterCard and checks (payable to the Salem Community Center). Cost is $25 per person and includes dinner and beverage provided by the Catered Affair. Seating is limited, and tickets are available on a first come-first serve basis. Reservations will be accepted through Aug. 27, or until sold out. Event tickets are transferable, but non-refundable.

TOPS?777 rewards winners

SALEM - Weekly and monthly winners were recognized when TOPS 777 met recently. Weekly best losers were Brenda Adams and Pat Sheen. KOPS of the week was Shirley Johns. Monthly winners included Frances Valentino, KOPS; Johns, and Valentino, at goal or below; Adams, best loser; and Mary Lou Smearsoll, runner-up best loser. Peggy Mix received a special award. Linda Evanoff presented a program titled "Vegetables." Each member then read an article about vegetables or fruits. She also read "Dieters: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep."

Oesch family reunion slated

COLUMBIANA - The 121st Oesch family reunion is slated from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 11 in pavilion four at Firestone Park. Games, entertainment, a Chinese auction and auction will be featured. Prizes will be given to children. Prior to the buffet meal to be served at 6 p.m., a group photo will be taken at 5:45 p.m. Family members are asked to bring a favorite food and individual table service. Coffee and punch will be provided.

ELCH golf classic scheduled

EAST LIVERPOOL -River Valley Health Partner's East Liverpool City Hospital 19th annual Golf Classic is slated Aug. 13 at the Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield. Golfers will compete for hole-in-one, team and individual prizes. The top three finishing teams and contest hole winners will each receive gift certificates from the Tippecanoe Country Club Golf Shop. Hole-in-one prizes include $10,000 and a 2013 Ford Focus.

Registration starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and a shot-gun start at noon. At the conclusion of rounds, drinks and appetizers will be available. The event includes a dinner at 5 p.m. During dinner, golfers will receive awards.

UCT 590 to meet

SALEM - Members of Salem United Commercial Travelers, Council #590 will meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Perkins Restaurant, followed by the business session.
