Homeworth woman dies in crash

LISBON - A Homeworth woman lost her life following a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Knox Township.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Miriam K. Yoder, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County coroner's office.

She was the only person in a 2003 Chrysler Sebring, which failed to stop at the stop sign southbound on Knox School Road at about 8:53 a.m.

Yoder's vehicle was struck by a Isuzu NPR delivery truck driven by Lynda J. Todd, 48, Ellwood City, Pa. Todd was traveling westbound on Georgetown Road. Todd was not injured.

In addition to the highway patrol, which continues to investigate the crash, the North Georgetown Fire Department, Homeworth Fire Department, Damascus Rescue Service and the Columbiana County Road Department responded to the intersection following the accident.
