Woman killed in crash

LISBON - A Homeworth woman lost her life following a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Knox Township.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Miriam K. Yoder, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County coroner's office.

She was the only person in a 2003 Chrysler Sebring, which failed to stop at the stop sign southbound on Knox School Road at about 8:53 a.m.

Yoder's vehicle was struck by a Isuzu NPR delivery truck driven by Lynda J. Todd, 48, Ellwood City, Pa. Todd was traveling westbound on Georgetown Road. Todd was not injured.

In addition to the patrol, which continues to investigate the crash, North Georgetown and Homeworth firefighters, Damascus Rescue Service and the county road department responded to the intersection after the accident.
